CONFINED SPACE ENTRY & RESCUE

3 days course

The course will cover theoretical and practical training in the basics and procedures for planning an entry into a confined space. This covers permit requirements and the practical techniques and procedures for working with a variety of breathing apparatus systems in confined spaces amongst other topics. The course addresses different situations of confined space entry.

Course Content:

    Accidents and medical emergencies can happen anywhere at any time, and effective first aid can make the difference between life and death.

     

    On completion you will:

    – be able to provide single-person CPR on an adult, child and baby

    – be qualified as a workplace first aid person

    First Aid Refresher

    1 day course

    Recertification for people who completed first aid training less than two years ago.

    Provides revalidation for designated workplace first aiders by refreshing first aid knowledge and skills.

    The refresher course has a practical focus and includes various scenarios, to refresh and be updated on the latest skills in First Aid training.

     

Offshore Crane Operator Training Level 1

5 day course

Under the close guidance of a top internationally accredited instructor the training will enable students to gain and develop the initial and basic skills with underpinning knowledge, required to operate offshore cranes.

Those who successfully achieve Level 1 certification will be able to perform on board (static) lifts

Slinger & Signalman (Novice) Level 1    

3 day course

The course will provide the candidate with the knowledge and skills to act as a load assistant in the roles of Slinger or Signalman, under guidance and supervision to gain experience, prior to moving towards a Level 2 assessment, on the following:

  • To identify, select and pre-use inspect from the range of lifting accessories available for the tasks allocated.
  • Attach & remove pre & free slung loads to the crane.
  • Perform the role of Slinger using correct body positioning, and making use of taglines or push-sticks.
  • To perform in the role of Signalman and interpret required movements into hand signals.

Slinger & Signalman Level 2

3 day course

This course allows for the candidate to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in the roles of Slinger and Signalman. This is to be performed strictly within accordance of Loler Regulations.

Competence is built and tested on a range of scenarios.

– Pre-slung loads and free-slung loads.

– Demonstrate the selection, inspection and application of lifting accessories

– Demonstrate understanding and the application of accessories accordingly, when using the accessories at angles or with a created WLL.

– Attach & remove pre & free slung loads to & from crane

– Perform the role of Slinger using the correct body positioning, and making use of taglines or push-sticks

– Perform in the role of Signalman using the correct body positioning and interpret required movements into hand signals.

Slinger and Signalman Refresher

1 day course

Any experienced Slinger Signalers who would like to renew their certification. The aim is to refresh knowledge and understanding across the key responsibilities of a Slinger Signaler as well as the understanding of the industry and associated hazards.

 

Level 3 Offshore Crane Operator, first time assessment

2 days minimum

We provide the accredited assessor to be sent offshore to determine the competency of the candidate in the role of a Level 3 Crane Operator.

Assessor reviews theoretical and subsequent application of their job knowledge, through following procedure, understanding Loler standards. The operating of the lifting equipment in static & dynamic modes will be observed and if candidates can demonstrate the required competency and successfully they will achieve the Level 3 Crane Operators certification.

 

Rigging Loft Management

1 day course

 The course is suitable for personnel responsible for the issuing and control of lifting equipment from a Rigging Loft onshore. Candidates will be familiarized with the various lifting equipment found in a rigging loft and the way the equipment is used and stored.

The CompEx Scheme is now the global solution for validating core competency of employees and contract staff of major users in the gas, oil & chemical sectors, both with offshore and onshore activities – designed and developed by industry for industry. Our specialised foundation course is aimed at people in roles such as Technical Assistants, Supervisors, Contract Managers and Senior Management. This is an underpinning knowledge unit which gives an overview of the requirements of achieving and maintaining safe installations in hazardous areas while enabling a greater appreciation of the hazards associated with working in explosive atmospheres and the recognised certificate of competency validation.

Candidates completing the Foundation programme may be interested in other Comp’Ex Competency Modules from Ex01 through to Ex12 which can be carried out at our partner’s campus in Scotland, UK.
