First Aid Training

Our first aid courses can be held at RTC or on your work site with our internationally accredited trainers. Helps your workplace to meet health and safety standards. Certificates are issued to American Heart Association, Pro Training EU & National Skills Academy, UK standards.

  • Basic First Aid

    1 day course
    This basic one-day first aid course is the standard training recommended for workplace first aid providers. It’s good for anybody who wants to be able to help during a medical emergency. Medical emergencies related to ill health or an accident can happen anywhere at any time – this course will ensure preparedness for response.

     

    On completion you will:

    • recognize life-threatening situations
    • be able to offer vital assistance before more experienced help arrives
    • be ready to advance your first aid training to the next level

     

    Topics covered: Scene assessment, Safety, CPR, Chest pain (e.g. heart attack), Breathing difficulties, Dislocations, Broken bones, Burns, Soft tissue injury, Stroke, Seizures, Bleeding, Using an AED (automated external defibrillator)

  • Advanced First Aid

    3 days course

    Briefing over the key teachings of basic first aid, plus an additional development on the topics.

    Ideal for designated first aiders, health and safety managers and anyone who needs a first aid certificate for their vocational qualification.

     

    Accidents and medical emergencies can happen anywhere at any time, and effective first aid can make the difference between life and death.

     

    On completion you will:

    – recognize life-threatening situations

    – be able to offer vital assistance before more experienced help arrives

    – be able to provide single-person CPR on an adult, child and baby

    – be qualified as a workplace first aid person

    Topics covered: Scene assessment, Safety, Identifying hazards & quick response methods

    CPR and intro to AED, Chest pain (e.g. heart attack), Breathing difficulties, Medical conditions (e.g. stroke), Dislocations, Broken bones, Burns, Poisoning, Soft tissue injury, Head and spinal injuries

    Seizures, Bleeding, Environmental conditions, approaching major incidents.

FIRST AID REFRESHER

1 day course

Recertification for people who completed first aid training less than two years ago.

This course provides revalidation for designated workplace first aiders by refreshing first aid knowledge and skills.

The refresher course has a practical focus and includes various scenarios to refresh and be updated on the latest skills in First Aid training.
